Job summary

S.A. Comunale is seeking an experienced Design Manager to support Sprinkler Designers and Trainees. The role focuses on growing sprinkler operations revenues while maintaining profits and compliance with NFPA guidelines.

Reports to the Senior Design Manager and collaborates with the design staff. The position requires extensive sprinkler design experience, leadership ability, and travel to customer sites. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this senior

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years sprinkler design experience required.
• 5+ years in a management role required.
• Knowledge/experience with AutoSprink and/or HydraTec systems required.
• Experience with Navisworks and basic knowledge of Revit required.
• NICET Certification Level I is a plus.
• Knowledge of NFPA guidelines required.
• College degree is a plus.
• Must be able to travel to customer sites by plane or vehicle.
• Must think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce timely results.
• Ability to build relationships across levels of staff and management.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism; align with company values.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend or participate in sprinkler design meetings as needed.
• Review drawings during design phase and after AHJ review.
• Assist layout technicians in SA Comunale offices.
• Follow through with all design items for each project.
• Coordinate with sales, project managers, and designers to obtain information.
• Provide technical design guidance to owners, architects, and contractors.
• Help resolve design issues on projects.
• Provide training for new design trainees as needed.
• Complete red line drawings to meet code and company standards.
