Job summary

S. A. Comunale Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Sprinkler Designer/Manager to lead the sprinkler design team and ensure NFPA compliance across projects. This role reports to the Sr. Design Manager and collaborates with sales, project managers, and designers.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, providing training, and delivering redline drawings that meet code and company standards; travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of sprinkler design experience
• 5+ years of experience in a management position
• Knowledge and experience with AutoSprink and/or HydraTec systems
• Experience with Navisworks and basic knowledge of Revit
• NICET Certification Level I is a plus
• Knowledge of NFPA guidelines
• Ability to travel to customer sites by plane or vehicle
• Strategic thinking, sound decision-making, and timely results
• Strong relationship-building across levels of staff and management
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Attend sprinkler design meetings as needed
• Review drawings in design phase, prior to submittal, post AHJ review
• Assist layout technicians in SA Comunale offices
• Coordinate with sales, PMs, and designers to obtain required information
• Provide technical design guidance to owners, architects, general contractors, and staff
• Resolve design issues that occur on projects
• Provide training for new design trainees
• Complete red line drawings to meet code and standards
• Supervise team of Designers and jobs assigned
