Job summary

S.A. Comunale Co., Inc. is seeking a Sprinkler Design Manager to support Sprinkler Layout Technicians at Harrisburg and Reading locations.

The role aims to grow Sprinkler Operations revenues while maintaining profits, meeting NFPA guidelines, and delivering compliant designs. Reports to the Vice President Eastern Pennsylvania and collaborates with the Design staff. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years sprinkler design experience required.
• 5+ years in a management position required.
• Significant knowledge of AutoSprink and/or HydraTec systems required.
• Experience with Navisworks and basic knowledge of Revit required.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of NFPA guidelines required.
• College degree is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Attend sprinkler design meetings as needed.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors on sprinkler projects.
• Follow through on all design items to be completed for each project.
• Coordinate with sales, project managers, and designers to obtain information.
• Coordinate with blueprint room on permits and submittals.
• Update and log pipe and job dates.
• Ensure headcount sheets are complete for each project.
• Travel to job sites for on-site design surveys and field checks.
• Oversee and supervise the Sprinkler Design Department staff.
• Provide technical design guidance to owners, architects, and contractors.
• Resolve design issues across projects nationwide.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA guidelines and latest codes.
• Assist sales with technical questions for bids.
