Job summary

Busey is seeking a Special Assets Commercial Underwriter II to provide accurate credit underwriting in support of portfolio management and new business development for assigned Relationship Managers.

Responsibilities include financial statement analysis, risk assessment, CCAR memo preparation, collateral evaluation, and collaboration with lending staff. Requires related education and multiple years of commercial credit experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years of Commercial Credit experience.
• At least 2 years in a Commercial Underwriter role.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial statement spreading and ratio analyses per guidelines.
• Evaluate cash flow, liquidity, profitability and leverage to assess credit risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with risk assessment and borrower strengths/ weaknesses.
• Evaluate collateral, industry data and other credit information.
• Assist with portfolio management tasks and monitoring reports.
• Support relationship managers with opportunity memos for clients.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and systems (including nCino).
• Assist in the sales process and attend customer/prospect calls when needed.
• Approve loans within authority; escalate beyond defined limits.
