Job summary

Busey is seeking a Special Assets Commercial Underwriter II to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting to support portfolio management and business development for Relationship Managers.

This role requires strong financial analysis, collaboration with lending staff, and adherence to Bank policies. Competitive compensation with potential bonus and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
• Requires 5+ years of Commercial Credit experience.
• Requires 2+ years of experience in the Commercial Underwriter role.

Responsibilities

• Spread and analyze financial statements per Busey guidelines.
• Use cash flow, liquidity, profitability and leverage to assess credit risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with borrower strengths and weaknesses.
• Evaluate collateral and industry data.
• Assist with portfolio management: covenants, reports, portfolio reviews.
• Assist Relationship Managers with opportunity memos.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and nCino systems.
• Support sales process with customer/prospect calls.
• Approve loans within authority; recommend beyond authority.
• Participate in pipeline meetings.
