Job summary

Busey is seeking a Special Assets Commercial Underwriter in the St. Louis area to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting for the Special Assets portfolio and related relationship management support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Business or Finance, 5+ years of Commercial Credit experience, and 2+ years in a Commercial Underwriter role, with strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of financial accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial statement spreading and analysis, including DSCR/FCCR per Busey guidelines.
• Assess cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage to gauge risk of obligations.
• Prepare clear CCAR memos with risk assessment and borrower strengths/weaknesses.
• Evaluate collateral, industry data and other credit information.
• Support portfolio management tasks: covenants, borrowing base, portfolio reviews.
