Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Designated Engineer to partner with Field and Engineering teams, delivering high-touch support and tailored technical solutions for strategic customers in the Digital Native Business segment. You will leverage Spark and related data technologies to triage and resolve complex issues and unblock critical technical challenges.

In this customer-facing role, you will perform advanced troubleshooting, build rapid POCs, create playbooks, and train teams on performance

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience designing, building, and troubleshooting distributed computing apps.
• 4+ years delivering production-scale Spark/ML/AI solutions using Python, Java, or Scala.
• Hands-on expertise with Data Lakes, SQL-based databases, and cloud-based data warehousing/ETL tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis to resolve performance and reliability issues in Spark, SQL, Delta, Streaming, and Databricks runtime features.
• Discover requirements for continuous monitoring and optimize customer environments with RD and NOC teams.
• Build Rapid POCs, test/deploy/monitor solutions, and showcase Spark/ML/AI capabilities aligned with customer goals.
• Develop playbooks and maintain a knowledge base for common issues and solutions.
• Train customer teams on performance tuning, debugging, and best practices for Databricks features.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering, Sales, and Product teams onsite to provide rapid production-impacting solutions.
