Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, owning architecture and delivering end-to-end data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will lead architecture decisions, design scalable systems, and deliver production-grade solutions with strong customer empathy.

You will work across engineering, product, and customer teams to drive measurable outcomes, train stakeholders, and provide accelerators.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end‑to‑end data architectures and applications.
• Experience with technical project delivery - managing scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Documentation and white‑boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time and Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects and reference architectures.
• Design and build end-to-end data ingestion, ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing big data projects with end‑to‑end design, build, and deployment.
• Own architecture decisions for secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
