Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer focused on building and productionizing data & AI solutions on the Databricks Platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and app development for enterprise customers.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and customer teams, travel ~20% to meet with clients, and contribute to scalable accelerators while maintaining customer empathy and project

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• End-to-end data architecture and application design combining pipelines, ML models, and UIs.
• Experience delivering technical projects and translating concepts into solutions.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel 20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to drive adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and client teams to meet engagement goals.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams for rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts.
