Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Structural Dynamics Engineer to perform interstage jettison analyses and develop high‑fidelity models for the New Glenn program. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers on separation architectures, create component requirements, and document results to support safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or physics with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for legal employment in the U.S. as described in the ad.
• Experience with spacecraft/launch vehicle separation, vehicle dynamics, and structural/thermal transient analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic analysis of the interstage jettison event using LS-DYNA.
• Determine minimum clearance values and study worst-case scenarios.
• Create high-fidelity transient models of separation mechanisms.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on separation system trade studies.
• Develop component level requirements derived from analysis.
• Perform structural analysis of metallic and composite flight hardware during dynamic events.
• Assist in test planning, screening tests, and data analysis.
• Prepare margin of safety summaries and qualification reports.
• Document system-level requirements and performance in databooks.
• Present findings in design reviews and reports.
• Maintain schedules and report technical status.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements.
