Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead the design, certification, and testing of pressurized and unpressurized structures for the New Glenn rocket. You will perform hand calculations and FE analyses, mentor junior analysts, and ensure hardware qualification and flight readiness.

Required are a B.S. in engineering with 8+ years in aerospace structures; proficiency with Nastran/Ansys/Abaqus; strong FEM modeling, testing experience, and collaboration across

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering (M.S. preferred), 8+ years in aerospace structures.
  • Proficiency with Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys, Abaqus for structural analysis.
  • Extensive FEM modeling techniques and understanding of dynamics, fatigue, and fracture.
  • Experience with development/qualification testing and flight readiness.
  • Knowledge of aerospace structural requirements and sizing methods.
  • Experience with scripting for automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hand calculations and FE analysis of aerospace structures.
  • Document stress analyses to support release of drawings and documents.
  • Plan and execute test campaigns; generate qualification reports.
  • Support configuration development and Perform trade studies inputs.
  • Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
  • Develop automation tools to improve analysis workflow.
