Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA, is seeking an experienced structural dynamics engineer to join the Interstage Team. You will perform dynamic analysis of interstage jettison events using LS-DYNA, build high‑fidelity transient models, and collaborate with mechanical engineers on separation system architectures.

The role requires a BS in engineering or physics with 8+ years of aerospace dynamic/structural experience, U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or physics required.
• 8+ years of dynamic/structural analysis experience in aerospace/launch vehicle.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience with LS‑DYNA and other analysis codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic analysis of interstage jettison with LS‑DYNA.
• Create high-fidelity transient models of separation mechanisms.
• Work with mechanical engineers on trade studies on separation system architectures.
• Develop component level requirements from analysis.
• Perform structural analysis during dynamic events.
• Assist in test planning, screening tests, qualification, data reduction and analysis.
• Write margins of safety summaries, qualification reports, and other supporting documentation.
• Present findings in design reviews and reports.
• Maintain schedules and report on technical status.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and cost savings.
