Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural/dynamics analyst for the Interstage Team in Merritt Island, FL. You will perform dynamic analysis of interstage jettison events, develop high-fidelity models, and translate results into design requirements for separation mechanisms and flight hardware.

The role requires expertise in LS‑DYNA and other industry codes, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to drive safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or physics with 8+ years in dynamic/structural analysis.
• Experience on spacecraft/launch vehicles or defense systems with focus on dynamic/structural analysis.
• Expertise with LS-DYNA and familiarity with standard industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic analysis of interstage jettison events using LS‑DYNA and determine minimum clearances.
• Create high-fidelity, transient models of separation mechanisms.
• Develop component-level requirements for separation mechanisms from analysis.
• Perform structural analysis of metallic and composite flight hardware during dynamic events.
• Write margin of safety summaries and qualification reports.
• Present analysis findings in design reviews and reports.
