Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, CO is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer II to join the Internal Missions team and help advance space hardware for our next-generation satellites. You will own mechanical design from concept through space flight, including architecture trades, CAD, analysis, manufacture, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.

The ideal candidate brings a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 6+ years of spacecraft experience, and proficiency with Ansys,

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 6 years spacecraft mechanical engineering experience, including CubeSat projects.
• Experience with architectural trade studies and first-order cost/physical analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools: Ansys, SolidWorks, Thermal Desktop.
• Experience with CNC manufacturing and GD&T.
• Experience with aerospace materials and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical aspects of Cesium spacecraft across all development phases.
• Conduct architecture trades, block diagrams, and system analyses.
• Lead design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
• Collaborate with engineering and program management to ensure successful builds and launches.
