Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is pioneering mechanical hardware for satellites and aerospace platforms. As Mechanical Engineer II, you will drive the mechanical design from concept through qualification, including electronics packaging considerations and thermal management.

You will perform CAD modeling, simulations, GD&T, and interface definitions, collaborate with engineering teams, and contribute to cost and reliability analyses while supporting manufacturing and test activities.

Qualifications

• BS with 2-5 years in design and analysis, or MS with 0-3 years.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar analysis tools.
• Experience with CNC manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
