Job summary

Iridium Communications Inc. is seeking a Senior Deputy Program Manager, Engineering to steer strategic planning and execution for high-impact SDA projects.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end system solutions, new product development, and network elements within the Iridium architecture. You will need a Top-Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead diverse teams and manage customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or science.
• 10+ years USG development/operational program management experience.
• 5+ years managing complex technical projects, preferably on DoD/IC satellite programs.
• 5-7 years classical engineering experience.
• Experience leading Scaled Agile projects.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans with senior management for the program’s technical vision.
• Coordinate delivery of multiple complex assignments within identified timeline and budget.
• Ensure projects meet financial targets and Estimates to Complete.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to deliver quality results and meet contract deliverables.
• Provide leadership and decision-making on strategic program design and delivery.
• Maintain requirements and planning with configuration management practices.
• Support proposal development and execution for future contracts.
• Provide clear briefings to senior leadership and manage risks.
