Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Proposal Development to lead technical approaches and system architectures for SDA proposals. The role demands independent work, cross-functional collaboration, and strong communication with leadership and customers.

You will coordinate technical deliverables, schedules, and engineering estimates while mentoring others and upholding engineering best practices. Secret clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in defense, aerospace, or space industry.
• Advanced knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and model-based concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for complex technical concepts and leadership.
• Analytical mindset with ability to solve highly complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the systems engineering execution of complex proposal efforts, including technical approaches, system architectures, BOEs, and supporting documentation.
• Independently define system architectures, requirements decomposition, interface definitions, and trade studies across Space and Ground Segments.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Program Management, and Business Development.
• Demonstrate advanced systems engineering knowledge to develop innovative solutions and evaluate design alternatives.
