Job summary

WarHorse Gaming Omaha is seeking a Restaurant Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations and ensuring all menu items meet high standards of quality and presentation.

This hands-on leadership role oversees culinary staff, helps with cost controls, inventory, and menu development, and ensures strict compliance with food safety standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years of kitchen experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Executive Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, delegation and supervision of culinary staff.
• Ensures recipes, portions, specs and presentation standards are followed.
• Monitors food quality, freshness, and portion control; oversees inventory and ordering.
• Trains and coaches culinary team; participates in scheduling and staff development.
• Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and food safety compliance; uses POS and inventory systems.
