Job summary

WarHorse Gaming Omaha is seeking a Restaurant Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality and safety. You will lead culinary team activities, help with menu development, and monitor cost and inventory controls.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years kitchen experience with 2 years in supervision, strong leadership, and a commitment to guest service in a fast-paced environment. This is a day or swing shift role with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 5 years of kitchen experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred; equivalent education and/or relevant experience may be considered.
• Must be able to obtain Nebraska Gaming License; ServSafe, Food Handler, and TIPS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Executive Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, delegating tasks and supervising culinary staff.
• Ensures all menu items are prepared to established recipes, specs, portions, and presentation standards.
• Monitors food quality, freshness, and portion control; collaborates on menu development.
• Trains, coaches, and develops culinary team members; supports scheduling and performance management.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards; oversees inventory, receiving, storage, and rotation.
