As a Merchant Solutions Engineer, you will partner with a growing sales team to identify merchant pain points, translate business needs into technical designs, and guide complex integrations from discovery to deployment. This is a remote-first, globally distributed role with strong incentives and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a merchant-facing role with a complex API product, ideally in payments.
• Experience implementing frontend SDKs in web or mobile environments and advising developers on integration best practices.
• Confidence leading discovery sessions and presenting to C-level executives with technical counterparts at large merchants.
• Strong interest or knowledge about technology and the ability to explain complex technical solutions.
• Proven project management skills: organized, proactive, and capable of leading multi-team integrations.
• Creative and adaptable; comfortable with varying merchant needs and limited prep time.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach with clients, partners, and internal teams (Product, Engineering, Sales).
• Drive and motivation to grow with a fast-moving, scaling company.
• Experience working in a fast-paced and scaling environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify merchant pain points and consult merchants on Primer's value.
• Provide technical expertise to the sales team to support business development.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and simplify complex concepts.
• Lead discovery sessions, solution design workshops, product demos, and developer Q&As.
• Drive engagements from pre-sales to go-live and ramp-up with a smooth integration process.
• Act as project owner during complex merchant integrations, align stakeholders, create implementation plans, mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Product to identify feature enhancements and new capabilities for merchants.
