Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer within the Solutions Center of Excellence (COE) to close gaps between Tableau capabilities and field needs. You will partner with Solutions Engineers and, at times, with customers to validate prototypes and ensure practical value is delivered.

You will develop AI-assisted prototypes and assets, engage strategic customers, and align demos with Tableau Cloud/Desktop, ensuring rapid field adoption in a 90-day sprint cadence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on solutions engineering or pre-sales experience with BI/data platforms.
• Deep expertise in Tableau Cloud/Desktop and ability to articulate platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with field solutions engineers to meet customer needs and drive adoption of what you build.
• Build working prototypes ahead of GA, using AI-assisted coding tools to show gaps.
• Engage executive customers to validate prototypes and test positioning.
• Create and maintain technical assets (decks, demos, architecture visuals) and keep them current.
• Experiment with new AI capabilities and bring scalable ideas back to the team.
• Understand Salesforce vs Tableau buyer nuances to deliver targeted demos.
• Share learnings across COE to improve field enablement.
