Job summary

Coder is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to partner with Account Executives, qualify and progress opportunities, and guide prospects through demos, architecture discussions, and proofs-of-concept.

You will own technical relationships, demo workflows for developers and AI agents, and run PoCs on cloud and on-prem infrastructure to accelerate deals. Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms is required.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Solutions Engineering or pre-sales for infrastructure or developer tooling.
Strong customer-facing skills that build trust with technical stakeholders.
Ability to translate technical hurdles into business value in real time.
Experience with agentic AI software development use cases and advocacy when appropriate.
Comfortable leading architecture demos and deep-dive troubleshooting sessions.
Solid Linux fundamentals and command-line proficiency.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (3+ years).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
3+ years with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform or similar).
Strong networking knowledge: ingress controllers, proxies, load balancers.
Familiarity with AI tooling at user and infrastructure levels and related enterprise adoption considerations.

Responsibilities

Own the technical relationship with prospects through pre-sales and drive toward a technical win.
Demo the Coder platform from developer, administrator, and AI agent perspectives.
Install Coder on cloud and on-prem Kubernetes or VM infrastructure.
Run proofs-of-concept to prove value and accelerate deals.
Evolve into a subject-matter expert on Cloud Development Environments and AI development.
Serve as the voice of the prospect, feeding insights to Engineering and Product.
Track and report product issues and feature requests using Linear.
Troubleshoot deployments, networking, and Kubernetes components during evaluation.
Contribute pull requests to Coder’s documentation.
