Job summary

Appian is seeking a Principal Solutions Consultant to architect cloud solutions for federal agencies and partners from the McLean headquarters. You will lead strategic accounts, run executive workshops, and deliver high-impact POCs with clear success criteria, shaping our Enterprise-Grade Orchestration offerings.

The role requires deep technical fluency in Java/JavaScript/Python/C++ and experience across ERP/CRM landscapes, with up to 50% travel. On-site at Appian HQ in McLean, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business field.
• 8+ years in pre-sales/solutions consulting or 10+ years in enterprise services with sales exposure.
• Hands-on programming or strong technical fluency in modern development.
• Strong communication and leadership with ability to engage executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for strategic accounts and complex sales campaigns.
• Lead customer roadmap sessions, transformation workshops, and executive visioning discussions.
• Architect high-quality, custom POCs/POVs with executive sponsorship and clear success criteria.
• Understand customer IT landscapes (ERP, CRM, data, AI, integrations) and map to Appian capabilities.
• Direct the technical response for RFIs/RFPs and security reviews.
• Influence Product Roadmap through feedback from customers and stakeholders.
• Mentor peers and contribute reusable assets and best practices.
