Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to design and deliver complex public safety deployments in the United States. The role collaborates with project managers, customers, and engineering teams to define requirements and assure adherence to CJIS security policies.

The candidate should bring at least a BS or AS in a technical field with 6+ years of engineering experience, strong presentation ability, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or an Associate’s Degree in a technical or engineering field and 6+ years of technical or engineering experience; OR 8+ years of experience in delivering Public Safety projects in a technical role or enterprise-level technical deployment projects.
• Excellent presentation skills, highly skilled with drawing and diagramming tools (such as MS Visio or similar).
• Strong verbal and written skills; fluency in English.
• Willing to travel, occasionally, ~ 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Understanding the technical requirements, concepts of operation, and architecture of the overall solution.
• Leading and defending the project's technical and programmatic decisions. It requires identifying customer expectation mismatches and working with the Project Manager to mitigate them.
• Tailoring and applying change management and systems engineering processes.
• Assists Project Management in developing and managing costs and schedules by identifying technical risks to the deployment plan and suggesting mitigation options for those risks.
• Participating as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager for the third-party, customer, and internal meetings.
