Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect for Financial Services within Professional Services to partner with the sales team and guide customers through Databricks adoption.

You will lead technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and proofs of concept across cloud providers. The role involves building reference implementations, demonstrating applications, and promoting open source projects such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog to customer communities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with big-data experience
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems
• Comfortable programming in at least one: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R
• Experience with global system integrators or financial services tech/data providers
• Experience building solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with data engineering technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
• Experience with data warehousing technologies (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS)
• Undergraduate or higher in engineering or mathematics (CS/Applied Math/EE)

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks
• Consult on big data architecture, execute proofs of concept, and validate integrations with cloud services and 3rd party apps
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demonstrations for customers
• Become an expert in open source projects like Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and promote them in communities
• Travel to meet customers in your territory
