Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead customer engagements in the Data Intelligence Platform domain. You will partner with sales, provide technical leadership, and design architectures leveraging Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

This is a customer-facing role with travel to meet customers and collaborate with product, post-sales, and partners. You will work with teams across cloud services and open source projects, delivering reference architectures and proofs of concept to drive

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales role or consulting role with big-data experience.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in and debugging at least one of Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with data engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Experience with data warehousing technologies (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Undergraduate degree or higher in engineering or mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture, execute proofs of concept for strategic customer projects, and validate integrations with cloud services and third-party apps.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demonstrations for customers.
• Become an expert in open source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) and promote them across communities.
• Travel to meet with customers in your territory.
