Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead customer engagements, develop architectures, and guide customers through implementation of our Data Intelligence Platform. You will partner with sales, provide technical leadership, and design reference architectures and proofs of concept across cloud services.

You will promote open source projects like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow, build champion relationships, and travel within your territory to drive meaningful outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with big-data tech.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R and debugging.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and data warehousing concepts.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in engineering or mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to explain how Databricks solves business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architectures and validate integrations with cloud services.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demos for customers.
• Promote open source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) within communities.
• Travel to meet customers in your territory.
