Job summary

Databricks is seeking Solutions Architects to lead the growth of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform in a customer-facing role. You will work with customers, product, post-sales, and partners to identify use cases, develop architectures, and guide implementation to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

You will report to a Field Engineering Manager within the Financial Services team. You will travel to meet customers in your territory and promote open source projects like Apache Spark,

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role—preferably with big-data tech.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in at least one of Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer-facing pre-sales engagements to understand business needs and map to Databricks solutions.
• Design and present reference architectures and proofs of concept for strategic customers.
• Guide customers through implementation and integrations with cloud services and third-party apps.
• Build relationships with customers and champions; establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
• Promote open source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow) across developer communities.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics discipline
