Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement seeks a Solution Architect to lead the design and governance of the organization’s solution portfolio. You will translate business needs into scalable architectures and collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs across ULRI-ULSE.

In this role, you will evaluate platforms, drive security/compliance, and promote enterprise standards while guiding aging technologies and roadmaps in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Solutions Architect or in a similar technical leadership role.
• Experience with custom software development, SaaS/PaaS platforms (M365, Salesforce, Workday), and IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Certification as an Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate solution architectures aligned with enterprise strategy and standards.
• Lead evaluation and selection of technology platforms, software solutions, and services.
• Consult on application development, infrastructure design, and system integrations while promoting architecture patterns and best practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, data protection, and quality requirements.
