Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement in Columbia, MD is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to guide technology decision-making, design complex architectures, and bridge business needs with technical capabilities.

You will lead platform evaluations, define architecture standards, ensure security and governance, and mentor cross-functional teams across Azure, AWS, Salesforce, and M365, contributing to a safe, sustainable technology landscape.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and implementing complex technical solutions across diverse technologies.
• Demonstrated experience integrating systems, APIs, and data sources to support interoperability and reliable workflows.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and modern application architectures.
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, API-driven design, and modern development frameworks.
• Certification as an Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business drivers and translate them into effective solution designs.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of technology platforms and services, designing standard and custom configurations.
• Consult on application development, infrastructure design, and system integrations while promoting architecture patterns.
• Produce architecture deliverables to support governance and decision making.
• Define and maintain architecture principles, standards, and patterns.
