UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement are nonprofit organizations advancing safety science through research, standards, and collaboration. We seek a Solution Architect to guide technology decisions, design and govern our solution portfolio, and bridge business needs with technical capabilities.

The role emphasizes security, governance, and architecture standards while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Solutions Architect or in a similar technical leadership role.
Experience with custom software development, SaaS/PaaS platforms (M365, Salesforce, Workday), and IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS).
Certification as an Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect; additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and manage the organization's solution portfolio, aligning with enterprise strategy.
Lead evaluation and selection of technology platforms and services.
Consult on application development, infrastructure design, and system integrations.
Produce architecture deliverables (diagrams, models, standards) to support governance.
Define and maintain architecture principles, standards, and patterns.
