Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a fully remote, U.S.-based role within the Veterans Affairs department. This position requires strong programming skills (C#, Java, or Python), extensive manual and automated testing, and experience with SDLC/Agile environments.

A Public Trust clearance is required. Responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, writing test cases, performing tests, and communicating results.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java or Python.
• Proven experience on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Ability to write and execute test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures to ensure information systems meet standards.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers and Leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation.
