Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager in the Ford Pro Intelligence division to lead a team delivering scalable software for commercial customers. You will guide technical direction, ensure quality delivery, and foster an innovative, collaborative culture across frontend, backend, and API teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 12 years of software development experience with proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• 5 years in a senior leadership role managing people and delivering software products.
• 5 years leading teams building customer-facing, browser-based applications with UI/UX focus.
• 5 years of cloud technology experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 3 years leading teams that design, build, and scale internal and external APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering managers who support software teams delivering end-to-end products.
• Manage and grow engineers with regular performance feedback and development opportunities.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects on time and within budget.
• Lead cross-functional scope with front-end, UI/UX, API teams and back-end services.
• Define requirements and priorities with product and design partners.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resolve issues proactively.
• Monitor progress and report updates to stakeholders.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring of teams.
• Review architectures and designs with a software engineering focus.
• Improve delivery pipeline, reduce cycle time, and strengthen security posture.
• Develop and socialize new engineering principles and practices.
• Provide thought leadership across organizations to eliminate silos.
