Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for Ford Pro Intelligence. You will lead a team of software engineering managers delivering end-to-end products for millions of drivers, focusing on scalable APIs, frontend UX, and cloud-based platforms.

You’ll guide technical direction, foster a collaborative environment, recruit, and ensure high-quality software delivery while aligning with Ford Pro’s mission to optimize fleet operations and vehicle performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 12 years in software development with Java, Python, C, or Go.
• 5 years in a senior leadership role managing people and delivering software.
• 5 years leading teams building customer-facing, browser-based apps with UI/UX and modern JS frameworks.
• 5 years of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 3 years leading teams designing and scaling APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering managers who support software teams delivering end-to-end products.
• Grow management and engineering staff with performance feedback and development.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects on time and budget.
• Head cross-functional scope across frontend UI/UX and backend APIs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to define requirements.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and issue resolution.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring for teams.
• Review designs and architectures with a software focus.
• Improve the engineering delivery pipeline for speed and quality.
• Apply advanced principles to multi-disciplinary innovations.
• Develop and socialize new engineering practices.
• Provide thought leadership across organizations to reduce silos.
• Drive continuous improvement and a learning culture.
• Evaluate new products and technologies and advise accordingly.
• Act as liaison between teams and other Ford Pro departments.
