Collins Aerospace seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of ~15 engineers delivering Cargo Systems software across multiple aircraft platforms. You will drive DO-178C-compliant development, certification readiness, and cross-functional execution with a focus on quality and schedule.

You will oversee staff planning, budgeting, and collaboration with Systems, Test, and Program Management to ensure successful program execution and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree and 10+ years or an Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• At least 10 years of experience in software and/or systems engineering.
• Proven experience leading software teams.
• Hands-on experience with DO-178B/C and ARP4754A certification, preferably DAL A or B.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and engineering risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to a team of approximately 15 software engineers responsible for Cargo Systems software development, verification, and sustainment.
• Provide technical oversight for DO-178C-compliant Cargo Systems software deployed across multiple aircraft platforms; support certification processes.
• Manage day-to-day engineering activities across programs; ensure timely builds and releases; improve processes and toolchains.
• Collaborate with Systems, Test, PMs, Platform teams to align priorities and remove obstacles; communicate with stakeholders.
• Lead engineering cost estimates for bids; contribute to proposals with technical inputs on scope, schedule, and risk.
• Coach and develop engineers; act as liaison between engineering and customers for clear communication.
