Job summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager (M5) to lead a ~15‑person software team focused on Cargo Systems software across multiple aircraft platforms. You will drive development, verification, and sustainment while aligning with DO-178C and ARP4754A standards.
Responsibilities include technical oversight, agile practices, and CI/CD adoption, plus collaboration with Systems, Test, and Program Management.
Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
- An Advanced Degree is preferred with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years in software and/or systems engineering with leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience with DO-178B/C and ARP4754A certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide people leadership and development for a team of ~15 software engineers.
- Offer technical oversight for DO-178C‑compliant Cargo Systems Software across aircraft platforms.
- Manage day-to-day engineering activities and ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Systems, Test, PM, Platform teams and Managers.
- Lead bids, proposals, and technical inputs for new pursuits.
