Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer for our Interiors cargo software program. The role is onsite in US locations such as Winston-Salem, NC, or Jamestown, ND, and requires leadership across engineering teams to deliver software capabilities through the project lifecycle.

You will mentor junior engineers, refine software requirements with Systems Engineers, and advance DO-178 compliant software development.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with extensive relevant experience.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and DO-178 certification.
• Strong communication in a collaborative cross-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader for cargo software team, aligning efforts across engineering teams to ensure completion of capabilities within project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers to develop, mature and update software requirements.
• Identify and manage technical risks and dependencies and ensure seamless program execution.
• Support risk and opportunity management, schedule adherence, and cost control to meet program deliverables and financial objectives.
• Contribute to the design and development of a Systems/Software architecture for the aircraft Cargo System.
