Job summary

Lockheed Martin Skunk Works is seeking a Software Engineering Leadership candidate to guide a team of engineers on vehicle management software for aircraft subsystems. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, Agile execution, and programmatic management across multiple sites, including Palmdale, CA.

The ideal candidate will drive workforce management, mentor engineers, and coordinate with internal and external partners to deliver complex software on aggressive timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required.
• Experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in Project Management.
• Technical leadership with ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in multiple locations.
• Agile team management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Active DoD Secret clearance to start, with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance with SAP/SAR.

Responsibilities

• Program workforce management including re-assignments, recruitment, selection, and terminations.
• Personnel management including training, mentoring, career development, performance/compensation, and promotions.
• Collaborate with Skunk Works programs, Aeronautics Programs, other Business Units, and Industry; communicate with all levels.
• Support pursuit and management of technology roadmaps and interface with LM Aero and external customers.
• Lead and manage software development using the LM standard software development lifecycle.
• Understand Agile software development and manage cost and schedule drivers to support engineers.
• Travel up to 15% as required.
