Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Palmdale is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering and technology activities on a restricted access aeronautics program. You will serve as the primary technical authority, coordinating with program management and customers to ensure milestones and objectives are met.

You will lead a cross-functional team, drive risk mitigation, champion airworthiness, and ensure robust designs with proper margins for safety and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline.
• Experience as a chief engineer or technical leader on an aerospace program.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all engineering and technology activities within a program.
• Serve as primary technical authority and interface with management and customers.
• Coordinate with program management to balance technical needs and business constraints.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system/product development and execution.
• Identify lessons learned and implement corrective actions.
