Job summary
CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Development Engineering to lead a high-energy Specialty Pharmacy Engineering team. You will drive a multi-year modernization roadmap, collaborate with Strategy, Operations and Product leaders, and manage diverse engineering groups across geographies.
The role emphasizes operational efficiency, value streams, and scalable technology delivery. You will mentor teams across platforms, oversee releases, and partner with vendors to build capabilities
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience with Agile.
- 5+ years building microservices using Python and Java (Spring Boot).
- 3+ years leading distributed remote engineering teams.
- 3+ years containerization experience (Kubernetes, Docker).
- 2+ years in cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
- 1+ years using AI frameworks and generative AI web services.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Specialty pharmacy software assets.
- Assess engineering practices to improve efficiency and time to market.
- Guide and mentor engineering teams across multiple platforms.
- Manage hiring, performance, and career growth for the teams.
- Collaborate with business, product and tech partners to support delivery roadmaps.
- Engage vendors for onshore/offshore staffing and technology needs.
- Conduct research to shape a long-term technology strategy in healthcare.
- Travel up to 10% within the United States as needed.
