Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for complex enterprise applications and cloud-native platforms. You will partner with Product, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure successful execution of strategic objectives.

You will own end-to-end delivery across multiple streams, drive architecture decisions, and mentor engineers while advancing modern engineering practices and secure software delivery.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in a senior engineering role preferred.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred) and Kubernetes with IaC.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.
• Own end-to-end technical delivery across multiple workstreams with focus on scalability and security.
• Define architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices across teams.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementation strategies.
• Lead technical planning, estimation, and architecture reviews for initiatives.
• Drive design decisions balancing business needs, debt, performance, and cost.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and partners.
• Serve as escalation point for complex technical challenges and incidents.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Review designs, code, and deployment strategies for quality and compliance.
• Promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, and Platform teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve outcomes and productivity.
