Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership, solution architecture guidance, and hands-on development for enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native platforms.

You will own end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams, define architecture standards, translate business needs into technical solutions, mentor engineers, and drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and observability to ensure security, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, React and/or Angular.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Cloud-native development, Container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with API Management and Integration platforms such as Apigee & Other enterprise integration platforms.
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Security, Authentication and Authorization models.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Relational/NoSQL databases, Data integration and analytics.
• Experience using OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle management, Automated testing, Observability.
• Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, pharmacy, or financial services).
• Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, SSDLC, and compliance controls.
• Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Experience building enterprise integration platforms and API ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
• Own end-to-end technical solution delivery across multiple workstreams with focus on scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Define and drive technical architecture, engineering standards, and development best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementation strategies.
• Lead technical planning, estimation, and architecture reviews for initiatives.
• Drive design decisions balancing business objectives, technical debt, and cost.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, engineers, and service partners.
• Serve as primary escalation point for complex technical challenges and incidents.
• Lead root-cause analysis and preventive measures for stability.
• Review designs, code, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for quality and compliance.
• Promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with EA, Security, Risk, Compliance, and Platform Engineering teams on secure solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve outcomes and productivity.
• Design and implement integration solutions using APIs, event-driven architectures, and integration platforms.
• Provide end-to-end technical oversight across multiple domains.
