Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer SME to join the Chinook program supporting the Intelligence Community. You will lead, design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical applications across the full stack, mentoring peers and shaping technical solutions in a collaborative government‑facing environment.

Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph readiness is required. Multiple locations include Englewood, CO, and other national sites.

Qualifications

US citizenship required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 12–15 years of experience, or Master’s with 10–13 years.
Proficient in web technologies, REST APIs, and languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript.
Experience with Go, front‑end frameworks, and multi‑cloud AWS/GovCloud environments.
Strong background in containers, DevSecOps, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for mission applications in the Chinook program.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web applications and backend services.
Develop scalable, secure software across front‑end and back‑end tiers.
Provide leadership in software design, architecture, coding standards, code reviews, and best practices.
Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering practices across the team.
