Job summary

KGS LLC, working with Amazon Leo ALG, seeks a seasoned software professional to design, build, and maintain foundational software for government customers. The role focuses on mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications, requiring deep expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software and modern languages (Rust).

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one programming language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Design, build out, and maintain software for government customers.
Develop software services for mission critical space safety and sustainability applications.
Collaborate with hardware, security, systems, and product teams.
Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interfaces.
Ensure systems meet performance, availability, interoperability, and security requirements.
Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders.
Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure.
Provide visualizations and document results across teams.
