Job summary

Amazon Leo's ALG team develops secure, high‑performance satellite communications software for U.S. Government customers, including NASA, DoD, and allied national security agencies.

In this role you will design, build, and maintain foundational software that extends ALG capabilities to government customers, delivering mission-critical space safety and sustainability services at scale. Proficiency in Rust and collaboration with hardware, security, systems, and product teams are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build out, and maintain foundational software for government customers.
• Develop brand new software services for mission critical space safety and sustainability applications.
• Coordinate with external systems rapidly, reliably, and at scale.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to meet software and interface requirements.
• Ensure performance, availability, interoperability, and security requirements.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
• Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.
