Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government is building secure, high-performance satellite communications software for U.S. Government customers. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining foundational software and services that coordinate with external systems at scale.

You will work with hardware, security, systems, and product teams in a fast-paced environment, contributing to mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications in Rust and other modern languages.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 1+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize network layer packet processing experience and Software Defined Networking to develop high data rate packet processing system and other enabling interface software to meet government needs.
• Demonstrate the capabilities of interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment.
• Solve complex technical problems related to the Amazon Leo constellation for Government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver on software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, interoperability, and security requirements.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
