Job summary

KGS LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a senior software engineer to build and maintain foundational software for Amazon Leo Government. You will design secure, high-performance services for government customers and international partners, coordinating with cross-functional teams across space and security domains.

You will work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment requiring deep expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant systems and proficiency in Rust.

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Develop high data rate packet processing system and interfaces for Government needs.
Demonstrate interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment.
Solve complex technical problems for Government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Lead internal and vendor teams to deliver on software and interface requirements.
Ensure systems meet performance, availability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security needs.
Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate across multi-disciplinary project teams.
