Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area, supporting the L-CAP platform in a SAFe Agile environment. The role blends hands-on software development with Scrum Master duties across an Agile Release Train.

Hybrid work is offered: 3 onsite days and 2 remote days if within commutable distance to Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Remote role possible if not within commuting distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and reviewing production Java applications.
• 2+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team within a large-scale software development environment.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices and RESTful APIs, including JSON, XML, and XSD.
• Significant experience with the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with modern web front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
• Significant experience with Linux and Git.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production-quality cloud-native microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate Agile ceremonies and remove impediments.
• Guide SAFe cadence: PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, demos, inspect-and-adapt.
• Track team flow metrics, velocity, and PI objective progress.
• Coordinate with RTE, Product Owner, and stakeholders on status, risks, and delivery.
