Job summary
Highmark Health is seeking an experienced software engineer to join an agile team responsible for scalable applications across digital channels. You will contribute to architecture and technical execution, collaborating from idea to deployment using modern technologies.
Strong ML exposure is a plus, with focus on code quality and performance. The role involves coding, design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers within an enterprise context, based in an office environment with standard travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
- Preferred Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 5 years in design/analysis of algorithms, data structures and scalable systems.
- 5 years in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- 5 years understanding REST/HTTPS/JSON and web services.
Responsibilities
- Design and write engineering specifications and code that meets standards.
- Idea generation and implementation of technical solutions for features.
- Participate in all scrum ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Drive story creation with DoD, acceptance criteria and estimation.
- Monitor progress and report issues to lead developers regularly.
- Mentor associate and intermediate software engineers.
