Job summary

Zillow Group is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to architect, design, and implement scalable software applications that power our integrated mortgage platform. You will lead end-to-end development, including design, coding, reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring, while driving reliability, security, and observability.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and partner teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and mentor teammates to elevate engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and supporting production applications or services.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex software solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and contributing to team-level technical decisions and standards.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable software applications and services aligned with business needs.
• Lead end-to-end development efforts including solution design, coding, reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Optimize performance, reliability, security, and operability through thoughtful design and observability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and partner teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers by sharing best practices in software design, coding standards, and operational excellence.
• Champion modern engineering practices (automation, CI/CD, testability) and contribute to standards.
